Dr. Maupin

Dentist

About

Dentistry has been a lifelong passion and a family tradition for Dr. Maupin. After more than 30 years in the profession, he continues to find great satisfaction in getting to know his patients, earning their trust, and helping them maintain healthy, confident smiles. Dr. Maupin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The George Washington University and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery in 1996. His connection to dentistry began even earlier through his father, who was also a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery. After dental school, Dr. Maupin had the unique opportunity to practice alongside his father, learning not only the art and science of dentistry, but also the importance of treating patients like family. When his father retired, Dr. Maupin continued in private practice on his own for 15 years. He later served as Chief of Dentistry at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, an experience that provided him with valuable clinical and leadership experience. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge with the next generation of dentists as a Clinical Instructor at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Eventually, Dr. Maupin made his way to the Coastal Triangle, where he returned to what he has always enjoyed most—private practice and caring for patients. He is proud to call Atlantic Beach home and feels fortunate to be part of the Crystal Coast community. Throughout his career, Dr. Maupin has remained committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care. He believes that good dentistry begins with listening—understanding each patient’s concerns, taking the time to explain their options, and working together to achieve the best possible result. For Dr. Maupin, dentistry is about much more than teeth. It is about relationships, trust, and taking care of people. After decades in the profession, he remains grateful for the opportunity to do what he loves while building lasting relationships with the patients and families he serves.
